Event Review
The preliminary round of the 2025 Poverty Alleviation Challenge was held on June 7 at Tsinghua University in a combined online - offline manner. It gathered over 310 teachers and students from 27 universities in China and Latin America. A total of 102 teams took part in the competition, with 39 of them being trans - national teams. 22 teams from Tsinghua University presented their poverty - alleviation plans on - site, while 70 teams from Latin American universities participated in the evaluation online. This fully demonstrated the international scale of the event, promoting cross - cultural cooperation and the collaborative resolution of global poverty - alleviation problems. After comprehensive evaluation, 12 teams eventually advanced to the trans - national final.
The final of the 2025 Poverty Alleviation Challenge was held in two venues: at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil (from August 13 - 15) and at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (from August 20 - 22). Through a variety of activities, it enhanced the practical poverty - alleviation abilities of young people, established a cross - cultural communication platform, and explored a sustainable and innovative path for poverty - alleviation cooperation between China and Latin America.
