Original Title: China-Latin American Youth Visit the Research Institute for Accessibility Development of Tsinghua University: Technology Lets the Visually Impaired "See" the World

(Translation) In a world that is increasingly dependent on screens, the number of visually impaired people worldwide is still growing. With the full digitalization of knowledge, education and public services, a question has become increasingly prominent: are these people being excluded from the dividends brought by scientific and technological progress?

Based on such reflections, the delegation of the China-Latin American Youth Responding to Global Challenges — 2025 Poverty Alleviation Challenge visited the Research Institute for Accessibility Development of Tsinghua University. Their purpose of this trip is not only to understand a specific technology, but also to gain an in-depth understanding of how science and technology can truly ensure that everyone, especially people with disabilities, can equally access knowledge and development opportunities in the context of the global digital wave.

Through on-site visits and exchanges, the team members have a more intuitive understanding that people-oriented scientific and technological innovation is not only a technical issue, but also related to social equity and inclusive development. This exploration also provides new inspiration and directions for further cooperation between Chinese and Latin American youth in the fields of poverty alleviation and digital inclusion.
