Founded in 1981, the Tsinghua Alumni Association is committed to strengthening the connections between alumni at home and abroad, and the connections between alumni and their alma mater. It provides services to Tsinghua alumni, carries forward Tsinghua’s traditions, and contributes to the national rejuvenation and reunification, as well as Tsinghua’s development.

The Tsinghua Alumni Association has extensive contacts with alumni. It has contacted more than 80% of the alumni. Among them, there are 146 active alumni associations at home and abroad, of which 91 are domestic covering 31 provinces, autonomous regions, province-level municipalities, and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and another 55 are abroad covering 17 countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Austria.

The Tsinghua Alumni Association attaches great importance to the liaison work of overseas alumni and provides corresponding services. It is committed to creating a warm and vibrant communication platform for overseas alumni and building a bridge of communication between overseas alumni and their alma mater. The Association assists local alumni to establish standardized alumni organizations, provides support for various activities of overseas alumni, gathers the strength of overseas "TsinghuaRen", and encourages alumni to give back to their alma mater and society. So far, the Association has successfully hosted three North American Tsinghua Alumni Conventions and the First European Tsinghua Alumni Convention. In addition, the Association welcomes international alumni to join the alumni association family and encourages them to play their respective advantages in local alumni organizations and actively participate in alumni work.
