On January 22, 2026, the warm winter sun shone gently on the countryside of Gaochun District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, with black-tiled houses wrapped in a delicate fragrance under the clear winter sky. Members of the Nanjing Gaochun Team of Tsinghua University Rural Revitalization Workstation gathered here with Latin American teachers and students from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and the University of Chile to experience the unique charm of China's folk intangible cultural heritage and embark on the journey of China-Latin America joint practice in Gaochun with full enthusiasm.

On January 21, 2026, representatives of teachers and students from Tsinghua University, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad de Chile, and Universidad de Santiago de Chile visited the Embassy of Chile in China and held in-depth exchanges with H.E. Mr. Pablo Arriaran, the Chilean Ambassador to China. Dr. RONG YU, Postdoctoral Fellow, and PhD candidate FAN Jiwei from the Tsinghua Latin America Center also attended the event. This visit was an important part of the study tour in China for the winning Chilean youth of the "2025 Poverty Alleviation Challenge Program." Both sides engaged in profound discussions on topics such as the role of youth in global poverty alleviation efforts, educational cooperation between China and Chile, and people-to-people exchanges.

On January 21, 2026 (Beijing Time), the Exchange Meeting of the Rural Revitalization Workstation of the 2025 Poverty Alleviation Challenge was successfully held. Attendees included Chen Taotao, Professor of School of Economics & Management, Tsinghua University, Director of the Tsinghua University Latin American Center and Director of the Research Center for China-Latin America Management Studies, SEM, Tsinghua University; Hu Yuanyuan, Project Director of the Tsinghua University Rural Revitalization Workstation; Wang Yuefang, Director of China Relations Department of MMG Limited; Ran Hui, from the Health, Safety and Environment Department of MMG Limited; Hua Zhen, Translation Expert at Minera Las Bambas Copper Mine; Nifta Lau Ibarias, Research Fellow of the China and Asia-Pacific Research Center at the Universidad del Pacífico in Peru, as well as all teachers and students of the Peruvian Team. The meeting conducted in-depth discussions on core topics such as rural revitalization practices, corporate participation in poverty alleviation, and youth exchange mechanisms.

On January 21, 2026, a delegation of teachers and students from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in Brazil visited Envision Group for enterprise visits and exchange activities. The event aimed to further deepen Brazilian youth's understanding of outstanding Chinese enterprises, build a high-level exchange platform for green technology and youth development, and inject new impetus into promoting China-Brazil energy transition and poverty alleviation undertakings.

On January 20, 2026, teacher and student representatives from Tsinghua University, the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, the University of Chile and the University of Santiago de Chile visited State Grid International Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "State Grid International") for a corporate visit and exchange activity. This activity aimed to deepen Chilean youth's understanding of Chinese enterprises' practices in overseas energy investment, power grid operation and corporate social responsibility, and build a dialogue platform for China-Latin America cooperation in energy sustainable development and youth innovation collaboration.

On January 20, 2026, teacher and student representatives from Tsinghua University and the Universidad del Pacífico in Peru, as well as representatives from Minera Las Bambas Copper Mine of China Minmetals, visited China Minmetals Non-Ferrous Metals Co., Ltd. and China ENFI Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. for enterprise visits and exchange activities. The event aimed to deepen Latin American youth's understanding of the operation models and international practice of Chinese enterprises, and build a dialogue bridge between China and Latin America in the fields of resource economy and corporate social responsibility.

On January 20, 2026, more than 60 teacher and student representatives from Brazil, Chile and Peru visited the Research Institute for Accessibility Development of Tsinghua University for an exchange activity themed Accessibility and Poverty Alleviation: Toward an Inclusive and Shared Future. Through theme introductions, laboratory visits and interactive exchanges, they gained an in-depth understanding of China's concepts and practices in accessibility development and technology-enabled assistance for persons with disabilities, as well as a series of innovative achievements of Tsinghua University.

On January 19, 2026, more than 40 Latin American teachers and students from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, the University of Chile, the Universidad del Pacífico in Peru and Minera Las Bambas S.A. embarked on a unique cultural experience tour in Beijing. During the trip, they visited the Juyongguan Great Wall, tasted authentic Beijing cuisine, and toured the Tsinghua University campus. They felt the profound heritage of traditional Chinese culture and the vibrant development of modern China up close, deepening the understanding and cognition of Chinese culture among Chinese and Latin American youth and injecting fresh vitality into the friendly exchanges between the two sides.

On the evening of January 18, 2026 (Beijing Time), the Ice-Breaking Meeting for the Study Tour in China of Latin American Teachers and Students of the China-Latin American Youth Responding to Global Challenges — 2025 Poverty Alleviation Challenge was successfully held at Tsinghua University. This study tour was jointly organized by the Tsinghua University Center for Latin American Studies, the China-Latin America Management Research Center of the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, the Center for Global Competence Development of Tsinghua University Students, and the Tsinghua University Rural Revitalization Workstation. More than 60 teachers and students from Chinese and Latin American universities and relevant enterprise personnel attended the event.
