On August 18, 2026 (local time), the Chile Specialized Seminar of the “2026 Poverty Alleviation Challenge” was held at the San Joaquín campus of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC). Youth from China, Brazil, Peru, and Chile exchanged views with experts, scholars, and industry representatives from China and Chile on poverty alleviation practices, cross-cultural collaboration, and technical application.
On August 19, the Spanish website of Xinhua News Agency published the feature story “Chinese and Latin American Youth Tackle Poverty Challenges in Chile”, focusing on multinational teaming, cross-institutional cooperation, and the educational application of artificial intelligence. Through the perspectives of Professor CHEN Taotao of Tsinghua University and representatives from UC, UNAM, and China Mobile Chile, the report showcased how youth explore poverty alleviation solutions adapted to the needs of local communities through mutual learning.
