Crossing Mountains and Seas, Forging AI Dreams: Chinese and Latin American Youth Jointly Build a Path to Poverty Alleviation

When the names of Tsinghua University and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil are linked by a common goal, and when a group of young people from the East meet passionate souls from Latin America around the topic of poverty alleviation, I know this is more than just an academic competition—it is a journey of integrating knowledge and practice across oceans and continents. As a member of the TsingLex project team, this experience has brought me reflections, emotions and a sense of responsibility that far outweigh the weight of a certificate.
I. Reflections on Technology: Alleviating "Legal Poverty" with AI, Making Justice Accessible to All
The core of our project is "legal intelligence". At first, this may have been just a term full of technological imagination. But after communicating with foreign professors and partners, the phrase "legal poverty" transformed from an abstract concept into something tangible and specific. Cumbersome legal documents, exorbitant lawyer fees, and lengthy litigation cycles stand as invisible barriers, keeping countless impoverished groups outside the temple of justice.
This has made the mission of our team exceptionally clear and urgent: to simplify legal procedures with AI, de-escalate conflicts with AI, and alleviate legal poverty with AI. What we explore is no longer merely the optimization of algorithms and the precision of models, but how to infuse cold lines of code with warm empathy. For instance, we envision developing tools that can automatically generate basic legal documents to provide initial assistance to people who cannot afford a lawyer; we research how to use natural language processing technology to translate obscure legal provisions into easy-to-understand guidelines. Every discussion with Professor Shen Weixing, Professor Du Xia and experts from Brazil's practical legal sector is like infusing soul into our technical solutions, ensuring they are not only "advanced", but also "useful", "user-friendly" and "practical".
Participating in this “China-Latin American Youth Responding to Global Challenges —— Poverty Alleviation Challenge” project has brought me immense gains. It has not only affirmed and supported the technical path of our "legal intelligence research and development", but also outlined a new blueprint and a new starting point for our future development. It proves that in the arduous battle against poverty, AI legal intelligence technology can serve as a precise and powerful special force, injecting a new impetus into social equity from the unique perspective of "legal empowerment".
II. Insights on Collaboration: Finding the Resonance of Consensus Amid Cultural Differences
If technology forms the backbone of our project, then exchanges with Brazilian partners have endowed it with vivid and rich flesh and blood. One of the most precious gains from this journey is stepping out of the technical framework of the project, forging deep friendships with a group of talented Brazilian students from diverse backgrounds, and reshaping my perceptions and ways of thinking on many issues through their multi-faceted perspectives.
The time outside of work is equally enlightening. By the beaches of Rio, at casual barbecue dinners, we talk about our university lives, career plans, views on global hot topics, and even the music and movies of our respective countries. I am amazed by their understanding of and curiosity about China—from mobile payments and cultural and entertainment industries to traditional tourism and rapid urbanization, their questions often come from novel angles, urging me to re-examine the rapid development of China and the progress of AI collaboration from an international and global perspective. This open ideological exchange beyond the project has truly turned us from "project partners" into "like-minded friends".
It is in the constant collision of these diverse perspectives that I deeply realize the true essence of cross-cultural collaboration: it is not merely about accomplishing a common goal, but a process of mutual enlightenment and common growth. It breaks our inherent cognitive cocoon, making it clear that a truly inclusive and vibrant solution is bound to emerge from the integration of different knowledge systems and life experiences. This experience has taught me how to appreciate and absorb the ideological light from the "other hemisphere" with a humble and open mind.
III. Perspectives on Brazil: Understanding the Multidimensions of Development Amid Passion and Contrasts
What I have seen and heard in Brazil has greatly enriched my understanding of "development" and "poverty alleviation". Rio de Janeiro is a city of striking contrasts: on one side, there is the blue sea and clear sky of Copacabana Beach, the samba steps under the sun, and the innate optimism and passion of its people; on the other side, dense favelas cling to the hillsides, speaking of unequal resource distribution and the complexity of social structures.
This visual and spiritual impact is irreplaceable by any report or set of data. It has made me understand that poverty is not a simple economic figure—it is intertwined with countless factors such as history, culture and social governance. We have thus come to realize that the TsingLex project cannot be just a "parachuted" technological product; it must take root in the real soil of this land and understand the genuine lives and emotions of the local people.
At the same time, the strong interest that Brazilian people show in China fills me with a warm sense of affinity. From their admiration for China's science and technology, to their concern for the prospects of China-Latin America trade, and even their enthusiasm for learning Chinese, I deeply feel that although China and Latin America are separated by vast oceans, the bonds of cooperation are becoming increasingly tight. Our joint efforts as young people are a tiny microcosm of this historical trend. We are not only exploring poverty alleviation, but also building a bridge of understanding, turning the grand concept of a "China-Latin America community with a shared future" into a single glance, a handshake and a joint achievement when we work side by side.
Epilogue: An Ending is Also a New Beginning
As the plane took off from Rio, I knew one journey had ended, but another longer expedition had just begun. The certificate in my hand is as light as paper, yet as heavy as a thousand jun. It bears the expectations of Chinese and foreign teachers, the friendship of Brazilian partners, and our aspiration as students to serve our motherland and the world.
In the future, we will continue to deepen the application of legal AI, letting the seeds of technology take root and germinate on a broader land with more tenacious vitality. This trip to Brazil has convinced me that when the wisdom of the East meets the passion of Latin America, and when the power of science and technology blends with humanistic care, we will surely inject a unique and youthful "China-Latin America strength" into the great cause of eradicating poverty and promoting equity in the world. Though mountains and seas lie far apart, we will reach our destination as long as we keep moving forward.

当“清华大学”与“巴西里约热内卢联邦大学”的名字因一个共同的目标而联结，当一群来自东方的青年与拉丁美洲的热情灵魂在减贫的议题下相遇，我便知道，这不仅仅是一次学术竞赛，更是一场跨越山海的知行合一。作为TsingLex项目团队的一员，这段旅程带给我的，是远超一张奖状份量的思考、感动与责任。
一、 技术之思：用AI纾解“法律贫困”，让正义触手可及
我们项目的核心，是“法律智能”。起初，这或许只是一个充满技术想象的词汇。但在与国外教授、伙伴交流后，“法律贫困”这个词从一个抽象概念，变得具体而微。繁琐的法律文书、高昂的律师费用、漫长的诉讼周期，如同一道道无形的门槛，将无数贫困群体隔绝在正义的殿堂之外。
这让我们团队的使命，变得无比清晰且迫切：用AI简化法律流程，用AI寻求冲突降级，用AI纾解法律贫困。我们所探讨的，不再仅仅是算法的优化与模型的精准，而是如何让冷冰冰的代码，承载起温暖的同理心。例如，我们设想开发能够自动生成基础法律文书的工具，为无力聘请律师的民众提供初步援助；我们研究如何利用自然语言处理技术，将晦涩的法律条文转化为通俗易懂的指南。每一次与申卫星老师、杜霞老师以及巴西实务界专家们的探讨，都像是在为我们的技术方案注入灵魂，确保它不仅是“先进的”，更是“有用的” “好用的”“实用的”。
参与这次“中拉青年共筑减贫之路”项目，受益良多，既有对我们“法律智能研发”技术路径的肯定与支持，更绘就了未来发展方向的新蓝图新起点。它印证了在“减贫”这场艰巨战役中，AI法律智能技术可以成为一支精准而有力的奇兵，从“法律赋能”这一独特角度，为社会公平注入全新力量的可能性。
二、 协作之悟：在文化差异中寻找共识的共振
如果说技术赋予了我们项目以骨骼，那么与巴西伙伴的交流，则为它注入了鲜活而丰盈的血肉。这次旅程最宝贵的收获之一，便是跳出了项目的技术框架，与一群背景各异、才华横溢的巴西同学们建立了深厚的友谊，并在他们多元的视角中，重塑了我对许多问题的认知与思维方式。
工作之余的时光同样充满启发。在里约的海滩边，在轻松的烤肉聚餐中，我们谈论着彼此的大学生活、职业规划、对全球热点问题的看法，甚至是各自国家的音乐和电影。我惊讶于他们对中国的了解与好奇，从移动支付到文娱文化，从传统旅游业到快速城市化，他们的问题常常角度新颖，促使我从以他国眼光、全球视野来重新审视我国日新月异的发展进程和AI协作进程。这种超越项目的、更开放的思想交流，让我们真正从“项目合作伙伴”变成了“志同道合朋友”。
正是在这些多元视角的持续碰撞中，我深刻体会到，跨文化协作的真谛，并非仅仅是为了完成一个共同的目标，更是一个相互启蒙、共同成长的过程。它打破了我们固有的思维茧房，明白一个真正具有包容性和生命力的解决方案，必然诞生于不同知识体系与生活经验的交融之处。这段经历教会我的，是如何怀着一颗谦虚与开放的心，去欣赏并汲取来自“另一半球”的思想光芒。
三、 巴西之见：在热情与反差中读懂发展的多维
在巴西的所见所闻，极大地丰富了我对“发展”与“减贫”的认知。里约热内卢是一座有着反差的城市：一面是科帕卡巴纳海滩的碧海蓝天、阳光下的桑巴舞步，以及人们与生俱来的乐观与热情；另一面，则是山坡上密集的贫民社区，诉说着资源分配的不均与社会结构的复杂性。
这种视觉与心灵上的冲击，是任何报告和数据都无法替代的。它让我明白，贫困不是一个简单的经济数字，它交织着历史、文化、社会治理等千丝万缕的因素。我们也因此意识到，TsingLex项目不能只是一个“空降”的技术产品，它必须扎根于这片土地的真实土壤，理解当地人的真实生活和情感。
同时，巴西民众对中国展现出的浓厚兴趣也让我倍感亲切。从他们对中国科技的赞叹，到对中拉贸易前景的关心，再到想学中文的热情，我深深感受到，中国与拉美虽远隔重洋，但合作的纽带正日益紧密。我们这群青年人的携手，正是这股时代潮流的微小缩影。我们不仅在探讨减贫，更是在搭建一座理解的桥梁，让“中拉命运共同体”从一个宏大的概念，化为我们并肩工作时的一个眼神、一次握手和一份共同合作的成果。
尾声：终点亦是起点
飞机离开里约的那一刻，我知道，一段旅程结束了，但另一段更漫长的征程才刚刚开始。手中的奖项，轻如薄纸，却又重若千钧。它承载着中外师长们的期望、巴西伙伴们的情谊，以及我们作为学子报效祖国、服务全球的理想。
未来，我们将继续深化法律AI的应用，让技术的种子在更广阔的土地上生根发芽，更具顽强的生命力。这趟巴西之旅，让我坚信，当东方的智慧与拉美的热情相遇，当科技的力量与人文的关怀交融，我们必能为这个世界消除贫困、增进公平的伟大事业，注入一份独特而青春的“中拉力量”。山海虽远，行则必至。
