Dr. Jianguo Chen is professor of School of Safety Science in Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He is the Director of Urban Lifeline Safety Monitoring and Early-Warning Technology Research Center of Tsinghua University. Dr. Chen is the deputy secretary-general of China Association of Public Safety Technology and has more than 20 years of experience in public safety technologies and emergency management and response. His main areas of research interests include disaster dynamics, emergency operations command & coordination, disaster derivation & escalation, emergency resource management, and others. Dr. Chen has been the principal of several government-funded national-level research projects.
