Introduction

This Project intends to conduct research on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and its implementation mechanism. Since the BRI was put forward in 2013, it has received positive responses from the countries along the Belt and Road and received extensive attention from the international community. In 2018, the BRI was officially extended to Latin America, and the countries in this region have also begun to actively explore the connotation of the BRI and seek cooperation with China within the Initiative.

This research will start from the theoretical perspective of international investment to deeply understand the connotation of the BRI and explore its compatibility with the background of China's opening up and foreign investment. It will respond to the current international doubts from the perspective of international investment. In addition, it will explore the feasible mechanism for the implementation of the projects related to BRI by analyzing investment projects.

The research will help Latin American countries and even other relevant countries in the world to understand the nature of the BRI, and provide a reference mechanism for relevant countries to participate in specific projects of the Initiative.
