Abstract：Panama's foreign investment policy is open. However, as China and Panama have just established diplomatic relations, few Chinese enterprises have made direct investment in Panama. Starting with the analysis of Panama's investment environment and combining with the evaluations of business environment of Panama from authorized international institutions, this paper sorts out the location advantages and characteristics of Panama, including basic location advantages, headquarters economy, Colon free trade zone and Panamá Pacífico and other special location advantages, and analyses the response of Chinese enterprises to corresponding location advantages. On this basis, the challenges faced by Chinese enterprises in direct investment in Panama are further discussed and the corresponding enlightenments are put forward.
