- Chile Regional Competition
China-Latin America 2024 Youth Challenge to Alleviate Poverty (Chile) holds final round
On the afternoon of August 22, 2024, Chilean time, the final round of the "China-Latin America 2024 Youth Challenge to Alleviate Poverty (Chile)" took place. The event was co-organized by Tsinghua University and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC). More than 100 students and faculty from Tsinghua University, UC, Universidad de Chile, Universidad de Santiago de Chile, Universidad Tecnológica de Santa María, and other Chilean universities participated. The competition received strong support from the Chinese Embassy in Chile and the Chilean Embassy in China.
The final round (Chile) visits the program of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by Compañía General de Electricidad (CGE)
On the afternoon of August 21, 2024, Chilean time, Ms Chen Taotao, the responsible professor in charge of this event and director of the the Latin American Center of Tsinghua University, led the participating teachers and students to Liceo Cardenal Caro de Buin High School to investigate the the program of CSR carried out by Compañía General de Electricidad (CGE).
Mentoring of the final round (Chile)
On the morning of August 21, 2024, Chilean time, about 50 mentors and participants from Tsinghua University and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) came to its San Joaquin Campus of to carry out the mentoring.
Seminar of the final round (Chile)
On the afternoon of August 20, 2024, Chilean time, the seminar of the final round took place. The seminar invited relevant industry organizations, as well as experts and scholars from different universities and fields to share their experiences on how to address the global challenge of alleviating poverty in theory and practice.

On the evening of May 22, 2024, San Diego Time; On the morning of May 23, 2024, Beijing time, the invitation of “China-Latin America 2024 Youth Challenge to Alleviate Poverty” took place. The competition in Chile was hosted by Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile,and co-organized by the Latin American Center of Tsinghua University. The seminar attracted about 60 teachers and students to participate online.

On the afternoon of August 17, 2024, Brazilian time, the final round of the "China-Latin America 2024 Youth Challenge to Alleviate Poverty (Brazil)" took place.
The second day of the final round (Brazil): visit Brazilian Hygiene Franchise Company-Águas do Rio
On the afternoon of August 16, 2024, Brazilian time, Professor Chen Taotao, the director of the the Latin American Center of Tsinghua University, as well as Professor José Orlando Gomes of Universidad Federal de Río de Janeiro and Paula Carvalho from the same university led about 50 participants to visit Brazilian Hygiene Franchise Company-Águas do Rio for a field visit and investigation.

On the morning of August 15, 2024, Brazilian time, “China-Latin America 2024 Youth Challenge to Alleviate Poverty (Brazil)” started in Universidad Federal de Río de Janeiro. This event was co-organized by Tsinghua University and Universidad Federal de Río de Janeiro, and received strong support from Embassy of China in the Federative Republic of Brazil and Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in China.
