Since the beginning of the Spring Festival, 2020, Chinese people have worked hard to fight the Covid-19, while our friends around the world have actively provided assistance. Recently, Tsinghua University Education Foundation has received a batch of donations from Chile, a country thousands of miles away.
Security Bank of Chile donated medical supplies including masks and disinfectant alcohol to Tsinghua University Education Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the"Foundation"). The Foundation will be in charge of transporting the supplies to the areas most affected by the Covid-19. The medical materials will arrive in Beijing one after another. Among them, the customs clearance procedures of the masks have been completed by the Foundation and the masks have been sent to Xiangyang Central Hospital in Hubei Province through the coordination of alumni.

Mr Francisco Silva, Chairman ofSecurity Bank, is an old friend of China. He serves as the chairman of the China-Chile Entrepreneurs Associationand has been committed to promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and Chile for many years. Mr Silva said he is very concerned about the progress of China's fight against theCovid-19and believes that China will surely win theanti-epidemicbattle soon. At the same time, he expressed his willingness to donate, hoping to do his part to help China fight theCovid-19.
SecurityBank has a good cooperative relationship with Latin America Center of Tsinghua University. After theFoundation learned the relevant situation, it immediately communicated with the Center, found out the donation process in order to transportthe medical supplies to the most urgently needed places, and put in emergency contact with hospitals in severely affected areas according to the donor's wishes. At the same time, theFoundation arranged customs clearance, transportation, andcommunication with the hospital soon. The entire process was in accordance with laws and regulations, orderly and efficiently.
The long distance cannot hinder the exchanges between China and Chile,neither the spiritual communication between the two peoples. Chile is the first country in South America to establish diplomatic relations with China and the first Latin American country to recognize China's full market status and sign a bilateral free trade agreement with China. The cooperation between China and Chile within the framework of the "Belt and Road Initiative" has become closer and closer, and the friendship between the two peoples has been passed down from generation to generation.
