Project Description:
This research project aims to systematically review the evolution of China’s economic and trade dependencies with the world amid the process of globalization, using Latin America as a case study to map China’s current interdependencies with specific regions, countries, and industries. By comparing the economic and trade ties of selected Latin American countries with both China and the United States, the study seeks to gain deep insights into these countries’ current and prospective attitudes toward China. This will enable China to better adjust its near-term and long-term development strategies toward specific regions and nations, and to identify pathways toward mutually beneficial outcomes with Latin America. The findings hold significant importance for the practical implementation of China’s new development paradigm and the design and execution of its opening-up system.
