Introduction
With the strong support of the Tsinghua University Spring Breeze Fund and the Tsinghua University Research & Development Affairs Office, Tsinghua University Latin America Center, together with Beijing Tsinghua ChangGung Hospital and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (hereinafter refers to UC), have jointly launched an anti-epidemic scientific research Project, which focuses on two major themes: “Experience sharing and comparison on Medical care & public Policies in China and Chile” and “Economic development and trade promotion between China and Chile under the public policy of controlling Covid-19”.
Regarding the medical theme, Tsinghua team and UC team conducted various experience exchanges and discussions on Covid-19 including the areas of diagnose, intensive care, rapid inspection technology, Covid-19 self-test system, telemedicine, public health policy and other fields. In the research process, the Latin America Center invited Tsinghua University Artificial Intelligence Research Institute and Vanke School of Public Health of Tsinghua University to join the Project together based on the actual challenges anti-epidemic in Chile
Regarding the topic of fighting the pandemic while restoring the economy, Tsinghua team and UC team have evaluated and discussed the impact of the Covic-19 on the local economy and bilateral economic and trade relations. Besides, the joint team also worked with relevant Chilean government agencies, the Chinese Enterprise Association in Chile, and Chile’s local enterprises to build an integrated platform for political, business, and academic communities which helps to promote the scientific research progress and practical operations through interviews with enterprises, questionnaire surveys, seminars, etc.
