New application characteristics of diamond model theory in the context of global value chains

Abstract: We take Chinese TV industry as a typical case to evaluate its international competitiveness by using Porter’s diamond model and focuses on the application characteristics in the new context of global value chain. In the context of global value chain, the international competitiveness of a nation has obvious“value chain segment”characteristics. For open emerging countries, to understand and grasp the specific elements that may form the international competitiveness of the corresponding value chain segment is an important way for the local companies to survive, develop, and even cultivate international competitiveness under open conditions.
