On the evening of April 23, 2026, the Exploring Latin America and the Caribbean Countries workshop invited Professor Li Ziying from Beijing Foreign Studies University to give a lecture themed Unity and Diversity: Core Issues in Latin America and Its Research at Jianhua Building, School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. Adopting a holistic perspective on Latin America, the workshop introduced the geography, culture, institutions, customs and other elements of Latin America and its major countries, helping students gain a general understanding of Latin America and experience its unique charm.

The lecture was chaired by Professor Chen Taotao, Professor of the Department of Finance, School of Economics and Management, Director of the Tsinghua University Latin America Center, and Director of the China-Latin America Management Research Center, Tsinghua SEM. More than 80 faculty members and students attended the lecture both online and offline.

During the Q&A session, students raised questions actively about the development trend of China-Latin America relations, the impact of colonial history on contemporary social structures, and the challenges and prospects of Latin American regional integration, creating a lively atmosphere. At the end of the lecture, the faculty and students present once again extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to Professor Li Ziying.
