On the morning of December 19, 2024, contemporary Uruguayan artists and professors from the Department of Visual Arts at the Catholic University of Uruguay, Federico Arnaud Armstrong and Gabriela Rossello Caics, together with Sebastián Bandera, Consul and Cultural Affairs Officer of the Embassy of Uruguay in China, visited the Latin America Center of Tsinghua University.

Dong Yu, Administrative Director of the Center, welcomed the guests on behalf of Professor Chen Taotao, Director of the Center, and offered a brief presentation on Tsinghua University, with special emphasis on the activity “The China–Latin America Youth Responding to Global Challenges – 2024 Poverty Alleviation Challenge”, led by the Center. Likewise, she also extended a cordial invitation for the Catholic University of Uruguay to participate in the 2025 Challenge.

Professor Arnaud expressed his keen willingness to participate in the Challenge and provided essential information about the curricular structure of the Department of Visual Arts of the university and its student body composition. He conveyed his hope that more professors and students from Tsinghua University would visit UCU to enhance exchange and cooperation in the field of visual arts between both universities.

Ultimately, the parties successfully carried out a fruitful discussion on topics such as international admissions and course exchange.
