On August 19, “2026 Poverty Alleviation Challenge” Chile Final was successfully held at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile. Focusing on mountain communities, Team Hillink won the bronze award for its low-cost freight system.
Project Overview
Hillink is a low-cost, non-electric, community-operated cargo system that moves essential goods above the stairways of steep, informal hillside settlements, freeing residents, especially women and the elderly, from the daily physical toll of manually carrying water, gas, food, and medicine up hundreds of stairs each week.
