Abstract: Mexico was one of the first Latin American countries to establish diplomatic relations with China. However, since 2003, the development of Sino‑Mexican economic and trade relations encountered a number of unfavorable factors, which to some extent hindered the progress of bilateral investment. With the inauguration of Mexico’s new President Peña Nieto in late 2012, bilateral relations between China and Mexico began to warm up, presenting an optimistic outlook for future development. Subsequently, a series of actions, including the signing of the Joint Statement of the People’s Republic of China and the United Mexican Statesand the convening of the first meeting of the China‑Mexico Entrepreneurs High‑Level Working Group, have revealed enormous business opportunities in Sino‑Mexican economic cooperation for countless Chinese enterprises.
