Specialized Workshop Invitation

China-Latin America Youth Responding to Global Challenges-

2026 Poverty Alleviation Challenge

Poverty allevation is a global challenge that requires collective action.

Since 2024, the Tsinghua University Latin American Center has launched the "China-Latin America Youth Responding to Global Challenges" organizing cross-border collaboration and practical activities among young people from China and Latin America to address real-world issues and facilitate the implementation of solutions.

The 2026 Poverty Alleviation Challenge has officially commenced...

In today's era of accelerating digital wave development, accessibility is becoming a crucial pathway to promote inclusive development and poverty reduction.

When China's experience in accessibility, digital education, and community governance meets the practical needs of Latin American countries in disability services, primary healthcare, educational equity, and poverty governance, a transnational collaboration focused on "how to benefit more groups through development" is unfolding.

This accessibility-focused workshop serves as a crucial preparatory step for the 2026 Poverty Allevation Challenge.

Introduction to the Specialized Workshop

The thematic workshop titled 'Accessibility Empowering Poverty Alleviation in Latin America' was jointly organized by Tsinghua University Latin America Center and The Institute for Accessibility Development (ADI), Tsinghua University. Focusing on the integration of barrier-free concepts, poverty reduction practices, and China-Latin America cooperation, the event engaged young professionals, researchers, and practitioners from both regions to explore how barrier-free initiatives can better support inclusive poverty alleviation. It also unveiled the 2026 Poverty Alleviation Challenge's thematic priorities in the barrier-free sector.
