Original Title: Guarding Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains to Secure Prosperity

(Translation) CGTN Spanish Channel interviewed Fernando Tadeo Román Vergara, a research assistant at MMG Peru's Las Bambas mine, who spoke highly of China's achievements in promoting the integrated development of agriculture and tourism in Zhangjiajie.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, with the world's tallest and longest glass skywalk as its iconic tourist attraction, has become an important engine for local rural revitalization. The scenic area brings more than 8 million RMB in tourism dividends to surrounding villages every year and drives nearly 4,000 jobs directly or indirectly. Returning residents have realized employment and income increase at their doorsteps by running homestays and catering services.

Relying on the tourist scenic area, the local area has successively developed various industrial forms such as the integration of agriculture and tourism, and the integration of tobacco industry and tourism, built more than ten related tourism projects in supporting, and gradually formed a pattern of all-for-one tourism development. At the same time, more than 36 million RMB has been invested in total to improve the construction of rural infrastructure such as roads and water supply, transforming lucid waters and lush mountains into invaluable assets, and outlining a new picture of rural revitalization with thriving industries and prosperous lives.
