On June 10th, Beijing time, Tsinghua University Latin America Center (hereinafter as the Center) held successfully the Second Advisory Committee Meeting online.
Professor Chen Taotao, the Director of the Center, reported to the Advisory Committee members the Center’s annual work in 2020 and introduced key projects that the Center is carrying out or scheduling for 2021. Besides, Professor Chen also made a reply to the recommendations from the members given in the First Meeting last year.
The Second Advisory Committee Meeting
After listen to the introduction, the Advisory Committee members congratulated the Center for its achievements in the last year, and they also shared with the Center their suggestions for the Center’s development in 2021. For example,they hope the Center can promote the cooperative relations with more universities in northern and southern Chile,on the basis of the current close cooperation between Tsinghua University and universities in Santiago,Chile; Meanwhile, the Center can keep updating its website page in order that Chilean and Latin American students can get more information about the Center’s events; besides, they also expressed their support and best wishes for the Center's upcoming seminars about technology transfer and the activities for celebrating the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Peru. They believed Chinese experience in managing big data and AI will be very important in the era that is characterized with changing demand of labor force. The Center may consider organizing activities in this regard in the future, which is also a great attention to Latin America.
Professor Chen Taotao expressed her gratitude to the Advisory Committee members for their attending the meeting and the valuable suggestions. “We appreciate a lot your suggestions which allow us to learn more about the actual needs of Chilean and Latin American friends. We will consider that when carrying out our work for next step,” she said.
