With the support of Spring Breeze Fund and Research Institute of Tsinghua University, focused on"China and Chile's experience sharing on diagnosis, treatment and public policies in the fight against COVID-19"and"Research on Countermeasures to Promote the Economic Recovery and Trade Development of China and Chile Under the normalization of the pandemic", the Latin America Center, Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, and Pontifical Catholic University of Chile have collaborated in scientific research projects on anti-epidemic research, with a view to using their respective advantages to carry out cooperation and jointly contribute to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and the improvement of public health governance.
Under the theme of fighting against COVID-19, they have conducted experience exchanges and discussions in various fields such as COVID-19 diagnosis, intensive care, rapid test technology, self-test system of COVID-19, telemedicine, and public health policy. In this process, based on the actual challenges of the pandemic in Chile, the Center then invited the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of Tsinghua University and Vanke School of Public Health of Tsinghua University to join the research team. On July 2nd, Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, Tsinghua University Latin America Center and Pontifical Catholic University of Chile successfully held the online project kick-off conference; on August 6, 2020, the team held the second joint research conference, which has the theme of "COVID-19 Rapid Testing Experience Sharing". A total of 22 medical experts from China and Chile participated in the activity. Besides, the team also held many other research exchange meetings.

Under the theme of fighting the pandemic while restoring the economy, the team members evaluated and discussed the impact of the COVID-19 on their national economy and bilateral economic and trade relations, Along with the Chilean government agencies, Association of Chinese Enterprises in Chile, and Chilean local enterprises, they will build a political, business, and academic integrated platform, and simultaneously promote scientific research and practical operations through corporate interviews, questionnaire surveys, seminars, etc.
Through cross-regional and interdisciplinary cooperation, the project brings together the joint research forces of Tsinghua University and Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. It will actively find solutions for the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, improving the level of public health governance and restoring economic vitality.
